Out of all the base game careers, Sims 4 style influencer is the most rewarding and challenging career. If you love giving a makeover to others or have an eye for fashion, then your gaming avatar can be the next fashionista.

You can have fun giving makeovers to poor or ugly sims and transforming the way they look. You can make money by choosing any of the two branches of this career: Stylist or Trendsetter, or you could publish fashion articles and earn money through them.

There’s more to this career than this, and this article will cover all that you need to know so that you can decide whether you want this profession for your avatar or not. 

How to be a Style Influencer?

Before we move on to the features of the influencer career, let’s understand how you can go about choosing this profession. 

• Go to the phone or to the career panel in the bottom right corner.
• Click on Find a Job.
• A list with all the careers would appear, and you can select the Style Influencer option.

It’s a work from home job, and once you complete the daily tasks, your next shift will start. Your characters would also receive a digital sketch pad on which you can work and learn new skills.

This sketch pad is portable, and your avatar can carry it with you anywhere. The paintings they create on it can be found in the inventory, and you can drag it and display it on a wall or sell it directly. 

Daily Tasks

As we mentioned in the above segment, there are certain daily tasks that your sim would have to do to progress in their career. 

1. Write Articles

One of the primary tasks as a stylist would be to improve your writing skills and write high quality content, which depends on your avatar’s mood.

You could also indulge in writing a fashion blog or recording a style guide for others because, at rank 4, you’d receive a computer for this work. If you have the Get Famous pack, then you can also gain fame through these tasks.

If your writing’s good, your published articles will gain you 50 points, while a failed one will offer you -30 points. 

2. Take Photos

Go to your sim’s mobile and click on the entertainment tab, which is a purple microphone icon. Now, select the Photograph Impressions option, and then click 3 photos that would add an impression to your style board. You’ll receive a moodlet for it, and the task will be completed 50%. When the impression is placed on the board, the moodlet is removed, and you can click a photo a second time and work on the second task. 

But you can’t add any more impressions once the style board is full. Also, you can customize the board as per your preference. You can upload the images by clicking the “Social Networking” option on the Computer and then selecting Share Image. 

Skills and Traits for Style Influencers

There are specific skills and traits that the characters who choose this profession should have, and they are as follows – 

1. Friend of the World

This trait allows your character to befriend others easily, and it helps them progress in their career as well. 

2. Convivial

Since you work from home, it’s essential for that place to be ideal for you to talk to others and even increase your charisma skill.

Till level 5, everyone has to go through these levels, and after that, players would get a chance to choose between the Trendsetter and Stylist branches and move further in that direction.

There isn’t much difference between the two branches; however, those who choose this option will be able to makeover sims much more quicker. You’d have to work on your writing, charisma, and photography skills along with other daily tasks.

Trendsetter Branch

If you choose this branch, then your work would mainly focus on gathering impressions, and since this task can progress 50% only due to a bug, you’d have to wait until the inspired moodlet disappears after 4 hours and then progress further.

You can gather impressions by searching for art on your Computer, talking to others about their outfits, or looking at art in your home.

Apart from this, you’d also have to improve your writing, charisma, and photography skills.

About Makeovers

When you reach level 6 of the Stylist career and level 8 of the Trendsetter branch, then they can give makeovers to other ugly or poor town people.

Therefore, giving a makeover comes under friendly interaction because you’re helping out others by transforming their appearance. 

About Making Trends

You might be wondering what making trends are all about. When your character reaches level 10 in the Stylist branch and level 7 in the Trendsetter branch, they get the option to create a unique masculine and feminine trends. Click on your avatar and click on the stylist icon interaction.

You can create up to 5 outfits for both male and female sims, and you might come across other characters wearing your outfits. You can create anything and everything that you want to.

In the top right corner, you’d see a plus sign to start a new trend, and you can also delete any of the previous trends you created. Click on the numbers displayed to switch between the various trends. 

Influencer Career Interactions

There are certain interactions that you can carry out as you progress in your career, such as Interview Sim or Discuss Outfit.

However, when you reach level 6, you’d unlock the ‘Model Look’ interaction, where your character would pose as a model, and you’d gain an impression once the interaction’s complete. You can add this impression to your style board. 

Apart from that, you can also ‘Assess Impression’ from furniture, which would make your character receive an inspired moodlet. 

Style Influencer Cheat

If you don’t want to go through the whole effort of performing daily tasks and then moving ahead in the levels, then you can opt for a cheat instead. 

• To enable the cheat, click on Ctrl + Shift + C (PC), Command + Shift + C (Mac), or press all four triggers (Console)
• Type “testingcheats on.”

Add the following codes once you’ve enabled the cheats. 

• To get promoted in the stylist career, input “careers.promote Influencer.”
• To get demoted in the stylist career, enter “careers.demote Influencer”

If you don’t want to cheat your way through the levels, per se but want to increase your skills quickly, then use the following codes – 

• Charisma – stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma 10
• Painting – stats.set_skill_level Major_Painting 10
• Photography – stats.set_skill_level Major_Photography 10
• Writing skill – set_skill_level Major_Writing 10
